How to Protect Your Energy in Daily Life

The flow of energy is never-ending. It’s flowing through everything, everyone all the time. Have you heard of chi, or qi, Reiki and other energy healing modalities? That cleansing, light, beautiful flow of energy. The energy we’re discussing to day is the energy that doesn’t feel so good.

Have you ever walked in a room and can automatically feel tension? You know someone just had an argument or fight, you can feel it can’t you? Makes you want to turn around and leave the room. We used to say, “the tension in this room so thick, you can cut it with a knife”. This is energy lingering afterwards. And the same with excitement, joy and love, you can feel that too. Some people radiates that loving, peaceful energy and some, the opposite. I love being around people who are happy. They have a positive outlook on things, no matter what they’re experiencing in life.

Signs you are dealing with an energy vampire.

Have you ever noticed people in your workspace, group or gathering who are always mad or unhappy about something? They’re never having a good day, and they make sure to tell you all about it.

Be mindful of who you are in conversation with. People will tell you all about their miserable day, while draining you of your happy energy. Once they walk away, you feel miserable and they’re the happy one. They just transferred their energy to you. Recognizing an energy vampire is the first step in taking your power back.

*They will always overstep your boundaries.
*They are very manipulative and make you feel guilty.
*They are always the victim.
*They are never happy, always complaining.
*They will leave you feeling tired.

By being mindful of your own energy. Know your energy! That way you can sense when you’ve picked up someone else’s. We all go throughout our day cleaning, cleansing, showering etc. but not realizing you have to clean your energy field. Your aura (your energy field) expands or contracts depending on your emotional state. Your aura also has color that tells a lot about you, about how you feel. If you have a big aura, someone can easily step into your space. They absorb your energy and leave their heavy energy behind. Many of us have no idea this exists.

  • close your eyes and take a few breathes and pull your aura in, closer to you. Imagine this big bubble surrounding you and slowly start to pull it closer to you. This helps keep others from coming into your energy leaving you feeling depleted.
  • take Epsom salt baths
  • listen to upbeat music
  • smoke cleanses
  • spending time outside

There are so many great things you can do to keep your energy clear, this is a short list. But it is very helpful. Energy is constantly flowing through everyone and everything.
